Holly Jolly Christmas

Just a quick post to share with you a little Christmas card.

I die cut the little branches, coloured some with Promarkers and glittered the holly using double-sided sticky sheets. The die-cut bow was cut from red card and crystal lacquer applied, and stamped sentiment.

Thank you for looking and for your lovely comments which are very appreciated. x

Good morning! It's time to start a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

For my design team card, I've die cut some layers and coloured the flowers with Promarkers.

I do hope you can join us over the next fortnight: anything goes as long as it's family-friendly and uses an encouraging sentiment.  You can link up to 5 entries, download the free word art Scripture and maybe win a fabulous prize including a $25 gift certificate at Simon Says Stamp!

Thanks for stopping by - have a great day!

Christmas Trees

I think this might be the first Christmas card I've blogged this year and it nearly didn't make it. After experimenting with different backgrounds, I made one I really liked using smooshing with acetate, then the stamping of the trees went wrong so feeling disappointed I began again. This one I don't think is as good as the first but anyhow I stamped the trees and assembled the card, then shock horrors, there was an inky smudge on the bottom so I chopped that bit off and finished up with a card that's smaller than it should have been.

My card was inspired by the colours at CAS Colours and Sketches. I scribbled SU! markers onto a piece of acetate, misted with water and used that to paint the background. This was a good excuse to use some nice Christmas tree stamps that I bought to use last Christmas but never got to it. Again, I inked the stamps with the markers and misted with water before stamping. The sentiment is heat embossed in silver.

Word Art Wednesday (DT)

I was absolutely thrilled by an invitation to join the Word Art Wednesday design team and here is my first card as a DT member.

I made an alcohol ink background, the leaf is heat embossed in gold and coloured with Promarkers and I backed the word banner with gold foiled card.

Please do link up your art at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly. You can also download the free inspirational verse and perhaps win a prize.

Thank  you so much for visiting my blog and have a great week. x

Let the flowers in your heart bloom

When I saw this week's sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches, I thought the wildflower dies would be good to use. I cut them out of watercolour card and painted them with Zig watercolour pens and wet brush.

Time Out Guest Designer

I'm very happy to be guest designer at Time Out Challenges where the theme for the next fortnight is Sympathy with the optional twist of distressing (use distress inks, distress edges, paper tearing etc).

To make my card, I sponged distress inks onto the leaf die-cuts and arranged them around the die-cut aperture.

Autumn: the year's last loveliest smile

I wanted to try and create something of the beauty of an autumn leaf using watercolours.  Not sure if it worked but this is what I made.

I drew the leaf on watercolour card and painted with Zig watercolour pens and wet brush.

Thanks for looking!
